There has been a huge influx of Australian stars in Hollywood in recent years, with some of these stars landing some of the biggest roles going. One such Australian star, who has become one of the most sought after actors in the business, is Hugh Jackman, who rose to Hollywood superstardom in the role of Wolverine in the 2000 movie X-Men.
Since then, Hugh Jackman has gone on to play Wolverine on a further five occasions on the big screen, while he will also reprise the role for the upcoming movie X-Men: Days of Future Past, while it is also rumoured that he will be back with a sequel to The Wolverine. While many people feel that Hugh has become overshadowed by Wolverine, he insists that he is still capable of playing any role.
Jackman told The Independent, "If I want to play a certain character I could. But I'm surprised pretty much by everything that has happened in my career. I was hoping to pay the rent as an actor one day and before I was an actor I was acting at the amateur musical society. I never thought I would make a career out of it. So if it stopped tomorrow I would probably go back to the amateur musical society. I'm someone who always tries to remember how lucky he is. And even if it's only Wolverine, it's pretty good."
You can catch Hugh Jackman in his next outing as Wolverine, when the upcoming movie X-Men: Days of Future Past hits the big screen on May 22 in the UK, before opening in the US on May 23.
