Not only will Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen be reprising their roles as Professor X and Magneto, but Hugh Jackman is reportedly in talks to return as Wolverine for a substantial amount of screen time in ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’.

Although Jackman did appear for a few seconds in X-Men: First Class, it was merely a cameo appearance and didn’t have any impact on the film or story. Now, Bryan Singer [the director of ‘Days of Future Past’] is putting together a cast of old and new members to bring the stories together. So far, the confirmed members returning from First Class are Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, and Nicholas Hoult.
From Hollywood Reporter, a synopsis of ‘Days of Future Past’ comic is: “The story was partially set in an alternate future where surviving mutants have been penned in concentration camps, giant robots called Sentinels patrol America, and most of the X-Men have been hunted and killed. In the present day, the X-Men were forced to stop a key event from unfolding in order to keep that future from occurring.”

Although it’s not confirmed if this will be the storyline of the movie, it will likely be similar since Singer is managing to combine the casts of two different timelines.
