Australian actor Hugh Jackman has had a very successful career in Hollywood, playing some very interesting roles during his career to date but, with all the roles that the actor has played, he will forever be known as the X-Men hero Wolverine. Hugh has played the role on multiple occasions and still has a few more performances as the character left in him.
Over the course of the next few year, Hugh Jackman will reprise the role of Wolverine in X-Men: Apocalypse, as well as doing another standalone Wolverine movie. While talking about the physical side of playing Wolverine, Hugh has suggested that it would be a good idea to shoot X-Men: Apocalypse and the new Wolverine film back to back.
Jackman told Collider, "In a weird way that has crossed my mind if that’s the way things play out, because physically, even though I was complaining about it because I found out about [X-Men: Days of Future Past] a month before I finished The Wolverine, so I was already planning on my cheat meals. It’s much easier because it’s tough to get there, physically, but once you’re there, it’s easier to maintain it."
We already know that X-Men: Apocalypse has a planned release date for May 19, 2016 in the UK and May 27, 2016 in the US, which means the film is likely to begin shooting next year. Meanwhile, the new Wolverine film is planned to open on March 2, 2017 in the UK and March 3, 2017 in the US. We look forward to seeing whether X-Men: Apocalypse and the new Wolverine film do shoot back to back.
