Alyssa Miller's relationship with actor boyfriend Jake Gyllenhaal reportedly ended early in 2014 because she was upset over the amount of time he was devoting to preparing for his role as a boxer for his movie "Southpaw". This is what Antoine Fuqua, the film's director believes is the reason the celebrated actor broke up with one of the top models in the world and he stated this opinion during an interview with 'Deadline'.

I think that this is a way for Jake Gyllenhaal to 'save face' because it seems inconceivable that an elite model such as Alyssa Miller, someone who knows how much work it takes to get into elite model shape would become jealous of her boyfriend having to work out twice a day. One almost wants to ask the film director if he has any idea how much work it takes for the top fashion models of 2014 to stay in shape?
I have a feeling that many in the fashion industry are probably laughing at the thought that the film director of 'Southpaw' or anyone believes that Alyssa Miller, a model chosen as one of the 'Top Sexiest Models' by the prestigious Models.com would have a problem with her boyfriend showing that he is committed to his craft.

In 2014 Alyssa Miller has shown a renewed focus on her craft as a model which has made her a model that I believe is one of the 'elite' models in the fashion industry. Could this 'news release' about the reason for their breakup be to allow Jake Gyllenhaal to retain his 'Playboy' actor reputation and not be seen as the one who might have been broken up with because of other reasons such as maybe ... commitment?
Alyssa Miller has not mentioned anything about her breakup other than to put forth a spectacular set of modelling performances in 2014. Whatever the reason for the breakup, it sounds like it worked out well for her but it sounds like the supporters of her ex-boyfriend are 'grasping for straws' trying to explain how he was not able to maintain a relationship with this beautiful model.
