It will take a special actor to play the part of Christian Grey, a role made famous by the novel Fifty Shades of Grey. Charlie Hunnam, of Sons of Anarchy fame, dropped out of the part last week and the quest to find an actor who has the right mix of good looks and attitude has been going on ever since.
Actor Jamie Dornan, made famous by his role in Once Upon A Time, is vying for the hot and highly coveted role of Christian Grey. He appears to be leading the pack contender wise. Matt Bomer, Luke Bracey, and James Franco are also names that come up as actors competing to become Christian Grey on the big screen.
Fifty Shades author EL James', first pick for the Christian Grey role was Robert Pattinson. Producers preferred someone different for the part and asked Charlie Hunnam. Things appeared to be moving smoothly forward until Charlie Hunnam backed out. He reportedly backed out because he didn't want the invasion of privacy that inevitably happens after a person becomes famous for performing an iconic role.
Attitude, good looks, there is no shortage of actors that have both of those qualities in spades. However, the role of Christian Grey needs to be played by a young actor. A lot of A list actors are in their forties and fifties and apparently it has become a difficult task to find a young actor with the chops it takes to play such a sexy and demanding role. Fifty shades of Grey fans are breathlessly waiting to see who the producers pick and announce as the next Christian Grey.
