We still have over a year to wait yet until we can cast our eyes over the Zack Snyder directed Supeman movie Man of Steel. However, there has already been a fair amount of promotional material and also a fair amount of criticism for Superman actor Henry Cavill.

To be fair, there is always criticism coming from someone when it comes to the lead role of a major movie but it seems that Superman fans are rather angered by the choice to cast Henry Cavill as Superman in the Man of Steel. In fact, some fans even feel that it was wrong to get rid of Brandon Routh, especially since he wanted to reprise the role.
One disgruntled fan explained, “As Superman Returns wasn't that long ago, I was a little pi**ed that they didn't keep Brandon Routh. I thought he played the part really well in the last film and didn't need to be changed. Especially not for some ugly dude that looks like he's in his 40s, Henry Cavill is totally wrong for the part.”

Man of Steel director Zack Snyder recently admitted that it was between Henry Cavill and True Blood actor Joe Manganiello and it seems that the latter would have been the favourite among Superman fans. However, Henry Cavill has yet to prove himself and, given the chance, could win some fans over. We will just have to wait and see.
Man of Steel is set to be released on June 14, 2013.
