Priyanka Chopra is receiving the sort of attention that one would associate with an actress who is the new superstar of an acting industry and some entertainment observers have as such anointed her as the new 'Queen' of Bollywood. There are many talented actresses in Bollywood but arguably no one is more popular with Bollywood fans or in greater demand with fimmakers or creating more excitement with their acting than the ex-Miss World 2000.
She recently returned from the U.S. in Hollywood where she was filming the pilot series of her ABC tv show "Quantico" and it reportedly went so well that she has had to put on hold her desire to expand her portfolio to include 'producer' because of the 'real' possibility that it could get a longer run and more film dates will be required of her (The Indian Express - April 14).
Her value as an actress has increased significantly thanks to the interest displayed toward her by Hollywood through the television studio ABC and her loyalty to Bollywood. She did not upon filming "Quantico" in Hollywood forget about Bollywood but instead did the exact opposite and showed her loyalty to the film industry which made her famous by returning to film the movie 'Bajirao Mastrani', a project which is receiving a huge amount of interest from Bollywood fans in large part because of her playing a major role in the film.
Her schedule has become so busy that she has been unable to commit to film dates to pursue a new chapter in her career as a producer/actor in the project "Madamji". She had wanted the film to be her debut as a producer but because of her filming of her U.S. television series "Quantico" she and the director of the film had to postpone the project.
No one has officially anointed Priyanka Chopra as the Queen of Bollywood but when some entertainment observers from India and the United States begin to look at her as the actress to whom they compare other Bollywood actresses that is a sign that a new Bollywood Queen may have emerged and her name is Priyanka Chopra.
