There was once a time when the heavyweight division in boxing was the glamour division, with a huge amount of boxing talent coming head to head, giving us some of the biggest and best fights we have ever seen. However, along came Wladimir Klitschko, who managed to get his hands on all of the world titles, apart from the WBC title, which his brother Vitali Kitschko held before retiring.

Wladimir Klitschko then went on to dominate the heavyweight division for many, many years, beating every fighter that was put in front of him, putting himself up there as one of the great heavyweight boxers in history, before finally losing to Tyson Fury last year, looking a shadow of his great self in that fight, leading many to feel that it is time for him to retire.
There is no doubt that Wladimir Klitschko will eventually be inducted into the boxing hall of fame and will be remembered as a heavyweight great, but was he really as good as people believe? Many people disliked Wladmir's boring, robotic boxing style, which they blame for ruining the heavyweight boxing division, while others feel that the level of opposition he faced was at an all time low.

With that said, Wladimir Klitschko could only fight what was put in front of him and he deserves all the recognition he receives, as he truly is a boxing great. With Wladimir on the verge of retirement, the heavyweight boxing scene is really beginning to heat up and, with the end of one era comes the beginning of a new era and it promises to be very exciting indeed.
Do you think Wladimir Klitschko is a true boxing great?
