There have been a lot of different stars having beef with one another in the music industry over the years, with many of them choosing to vent their feelings with the lyrics in their songs. We have seen and heard rapper Eminem dissing many people in his songs over the years and it looked like he was set to have some beef with fellow rapper J. Cole in the near future.
J. Cole is trying to calm the situation
In his song Fire Squad, J. Cole has a line about Eminem, which has led to many people claiming that he was having a dig at him but it seems that people have just jumped to their own conclusions. J. Cole has now come out to respond to the Eminem diss claims, insisting that they are in now way at all a dig at the star.
The lyrics in question are, "History repeats itself and that's just how it goes / Same way that these rappers always bite each other's flows / Same thing that my n---a Elvis did with rock 'n' roll / Justin Timberlake, Eminem and then Macklemore."
Will Eminem respond?
Will Eminem respond?
J. Cole explained, "It's silly how big of an Eminem fan I am. There's a very select group of top-notch people that I worship; Eminem was literally at the top of that list. My first song [sounds] like an Eminem bite. If you think I'm dissing Eminem, I know you just read the headline and you're not listening to the song. That has nothing to do with dissing Eminem or dissing any of those people. That part of the verse is an observation, me making an observation of culture right now, what's happening."
It will be interesting to see how Eminem responds to this and if we do get a new celebrity beef on our hands.
