J.J. Abrams has moved Star Trek 2 a step closer after signing up to Star Trek 2, which will please some of the cast and relieve some anxious feelings with actors such as Zachary Quinto.
It was never really in doubt that he would sign for the sequel, but many were starting to wonder, including cast, when filming would begin, the second Star Trek movie in the reboot, will see the return of screenwriters Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci who wrote the first screenplay. This is welcomed news as every member of the original cast signed on long ago and this now seems to have completed negioations for a clear shot at the second. The film will see the return of such stars as Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto.
After J.J. Abrams managed to net the studios almost $400m worldwide it was never really in doubt that there was only one man for the job. The expected release date for Star Trek 2 was coined a few months ago as June 29th 2012, but with filming not even underway this date seems highly unlikely now.
