English actor Jack Davenport is best known for his role as Peter Smith-Kingsley in The Talented Mr. Ripley (1999). He also became well-known as Norrington in Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003), Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest (2006), and Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End (2007).
Jack has 42 acting credits in his repertoire, and has been successful in film and television series categories. Other films that he has appeared in are Haven’t We Met Before? (2013), Mother’s Milk (2012), The Key Man (2011), Pirate Radio (2009), This Life + 10 (2007), The Wedding Date (2005), Agatha Christie’s Marple (2004), The Libertine (2004), Terrible Kisses (2004), Subterrain (2001) and The Bunker (2001). He has a knack for mixing a stoic personality in a comedic situation which makes the comedy of a dry nature, and definitely a hit with viewers.
He has also appeared in several television series including This Life (1996-7), Dickens (2002), Coupling (2000-04), Mary Bryant (2005), Swingtown (2008) and FlashForward (2008-10). It’s apparent that Jack’s talent as an actor has kept him in demand.
Davenport’s most current work has been as Derek Wills in the television series Smash (2012-13), and in the role of Otto Powell in Breathless (2013). Although there are no new movies announced in the immediate future, fans are hoping to see Jack hit the big screen again soon. We’re all awaiting word of his next great adventure in the sea of film.
