24 year old British funnyman Jack Whitehall has revealed how his career could have been completely different and he could be a global superstar. Jack claims that he auditioned to play the role of Harry Potter in the movie franchise but he was unsuccessful and did not even get past the first audition.

Harry Potter
Whitehall explained to Shortlist, “I tried out for (the role of) Harry Potter... but I didn't get past the first audition. I had read those books and I was a big fan.” And it appears that Harry Potter is not the only big movie franchise that Jack auditioned for, as he claims that he also tried out for The Hobbit.
He added, “I was the first person in the world to audition for The Hobbit. The casting director told me that when I went in. That's a lot of pressure, isn't it? The first person in the world. That's probably why I f**ked the audition up. (I auditioned for) an elf, I think. No, a hobbit. One of the 'dwarfy' ones... I haven't read the book.”

The Hobbit
It is hard to imagine Jack Whitehall being in any serious movie, as he rarely shows his serious side when on TV. When he is not appearing in comedy panel shows, he is doing comedy television series and even when he appears in interviews he is the funnyman.
Do you think Jack Whitehall would have made a good Harry Potter?
