It seems that adapting YA novel's into big screen movies is becoming all the rage and the next one that is being done is the Veronica Roth novel Divergent. Since it was announced that Divergent was being adapted into a movie, they have wasted no time in bringing in a fairly strong cast.
The already impressive cast for Divergent sees Shailene Woodley (The Descendants) in the lead role, while Kate Winslet also has a role in the movie. It was also recently reported that Maggie Q (Nikita), Zoe Kravitz (X-Men: First Class), and Ansel Elgort (Carrie remake) were in talks to appear in Divergent.
Now, it has been reported that A Good Day to Die Hard actor Jai Courtney has signed up to star in Divergent as Eric, the leader of the Dauntless faction who represent bravery. Meanwhile, the search is still on to find the leading man, to star alongside Shailene Woodley in Divergent but we expect that to be announced soon.
Divergent is going to be directed by Neil Burger, based on the screenplay which is being developed by Evan Daugherty, and is set to be released on March 21, 2014, in both the US and the UK.
