It was the London premiere of the latest James Bond movie, Skyfall last night and there was a great turn out for the event. There was also an extra special feel to the whole Skyfall premiere, as the release of the movie marks the 50th anniversary of the release of Dr No.

Daniel Craig said from the red carpet, “It is just a real honour to be part of it and to have a chance to make a movie in this 50th year. There is nothing quite like it, but this feels even more special for me than the ones that have gone before.”
While Judi Dench added, “There was lots more to explore - a continuation of what has been happening to us over several years. It is quite different from any other film. And they make you very, very welcome and they make you feel part of the franchise and part of the family.”

It is director Sam Mendes’ first attempt at a Bond movie and he stated, “You’re looking after something that is public property and you have to treat it properly. You can’t take a Bond movie on unless you want to deal with pressure and people’s expectation it’s part of the pleasure. You have to embrace that.”
Skyfall is the 23rd movie in the James Bond franchise, which has so far managed to gross over $5 billion, making it one of the most successful movie franchises of all time.
