It has been reported that James Corden and co-writer Ruth Jones are set to pocket an incredible £5m each if Gavin and Stacey becomes a success in the US. The show has already been commissioned for a pilot and hopes are that it will be as big as The Office is in the US.

It is claimed that James and Ruth will receive £20,000 each for the initial pilot episode in the US and then, if it gets commissioned for a whole season, they will the pocket £175,000 each from Fox and after that, the big money begins to role in.
If Gavin and Stacey manages to get commissioned for a second season, they will start to receive megabucks and from then on the money gets ridiculously big. While James Corden and Ruth Jones are set to make big money from Gavin and Stacey US, they are not likely to appear in the show.

A Hollywood insider said, “If it takes off as everyone hopes, they can sit back and watch the money coming in.” James Corden has become one of Britain’s biggest and favourite comedy stars thanks to Gavin and Stacey and if the show is a hit in the US, it could well see him follow the same path as Ricky Gervais and make the move into Hollywood movies.
