With the amount of former X-Men cast members that are returning for X-Men: Days of Future Past, there was talk of James Marsden returning to the role of Cyclops. However, James has admitted that, while he will not be in X-Men: Days of Future Past, he could well return in a future X-Men movie.

Marsden explained, "If this next film really works, Bryan (Singer) has said he wants to fix a few things, so hopefully Cyclops’s death is one of them."

He added, "I always liked Cyclops, but they have a lot of characters that they have to parcel out, spend time with each one, make sure everyone feels like they’ve been given their due, introduce them appropriately. But you could do a spinoff of every one of those characters and give them so much depth to the storyline."

X-Men: Days of Future Past opens on May 22, 2014 in the UK and May 23, 2014 in the US.
