Gone are the days when the English Premier League was just a two-horse race, with more and more teams making a challenge for the title these days. There was once a time when the top four was a given and everyone else was just competing among themselves. Those days are long gone two, especially with the demise of Manchester United.
With that said though, English Premier League champions Manchester City have been there or there abouts for the past few seasons now and are expected to be in the title race again this season. While Manchester City have plenty of big name, big money stars, it seems that there is actually an English player who has been earning rave reviews of late.
James Milner has been impressing pretty much everyone recently, including Chelsea star Eden Hazard, who claims that Milner was the driving force behind their recent 1-1 draw. Hazard explained, "This year [James] Milner defended more on the right-hand side. That made it more difficult for me to attack. Having said that I thought we played well. It’s never easy to play at City. The first half was complicated; we didn’t have much time on the ball."
The English Premier League season is only five games in but it already looks like Manchester City and Chelsea will both be in the title race for the long haul. Chelsea currently sit top of the league on 13 points, while Manchester City are back in sixth place with 8 points. It is likely to be between these two sides for the title, although Arsenal could also find themselves in the running.
