James Purefoy is getting a new 'Following', the British actor turned down starring in the Superman vs. Batman movie as Lex Luthor, but Purefoy will still be Fox's leading bad guy on the TV series, The Following.
When the show ended earlier this year, the fate of Joe Carroll is left up in the air.Purefoy confirmed at this year's Comic Con that he will return for the show's sophomore run. Now, he is dishes out spoilers. The actor alluded to a more complex endgame that was previous establish in season one. Joe Carroll has had ten years in a prison cell to come up with a plan that resembles a spider web and not a timeline. Season 2 is going to be about explore that web and seeing how the series lead, Ryan Hardy, played by Kevin Bacon gets tangled into it.
Purefoy gives a little insight into his character. James informs, "Joe is an enormously complicated man and he does appalling things but strangely we like him." James goes on to say that Joe is the "most nihilistic character" on television.
Fox just announced the updated scheduled this week. The first hour of a two hour premiere will be aired on Sunday, January 19th right after the NFC Championship Game. Instead of airing the second half the next day, Fox has decided to move the airing to Monday, January 27th at 9/8 C.
