As the Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to grow and grow, we get to see more new faces cast in some very familiar roles. With Joss Whedon working on the movie The Avengers: Age of Ultron, a lot of talk turned to who should play the role of Ultron in the film.
Now, it has been confirmed by Marvel, that three-time Emmy Award winning actor James Spader has been cast in the role of Ultron for The Avengers: Age of Ultron. James will take on Earth's mightiest heroes in one of the most anticipated movies of 2015.
The press release reads, "James Spader will face off against Earth’s Mightiest Heroes as the villain in Marvel’s “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” the sequel to 2012’s record-breaking “Marvel’s The Avengers.” The Emmy Award-winning actor will play Ultron in the Avengers’ much anticipated return to the big screen from writer/director Joss Whedon. It will be interesting to see how Joss Whedon goes about Ultron. We could have James Spader using motion capture for the humanoid robot, or he could simply lend his voice to the character. The Avengers: Age of Ultron will begin production in February 2014, before being released on May 1, 2015 in both the US and the UK.
