Billy Elliot star Jamie Bell married actress Evan Rachel Wood on Tuesday, despite her claims that she still fancies women.
Jamie and Evan tied the knot during a private, intimate ceremony in California in front of their closest family and friends.
Jamie tweeted on Thursday, saying: “Thank you for all the congratulations. I’m a very lucky man. I’d like to wish everyone on the east coast well. My thoughts are with them. X.”
However, it was his new wife’s Twitter post that got people talking. When a curious fan asked her on Wednesday: “@evanrachelwood question, honestly not trying to be an ass. Just trying to understand. Does this mean u r not bi anymore? How is that work?”
The True Blood actress replied, saying: “No. It just means I am not single anymore ;) @basilme.”
The private couple got engaged last year but never actually officially confirmed the news publicly. The pair first began dating in 2005 after they met on the set of Green Day's music video for 'Wake Me Up When September Ends'. They marked their love by getting matching tattoos but split a year later.
They later rekindled their romance in 2010 after Evan ended her seven-month engagement to rocker Marilyn Manson. Reports first surfaced she and Jamie were engaged in January, two months after she was first spotted sporting an engagement ring on her finger.
A spokesperson for the couple confirmed they were married and told People.com: "The bride wore a custom dress by Carolina Herrera. It was a small ceremony with close family and friends."
