Following the huge success of a number of movie franchises that have been developed from novels, it was no real surprise when it was announced that there were plans to make a new movie franchise based on The Mortal Instruments books. Fans of the books were delighted at the news and there was a lot of excitement leading up to the release of The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones.
Unfortunately The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones did not live up to expectations and the movie was slated by critics, while also only managing to gross $80m worldwide. This has left the possibility of the sequel The Mortal Instruments: City of Ashes up in the air, with many expecting that the project will now be scrapped.
English actor Jamie Campbell Bower played the role of Jace in The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones and the star has opened up about working on the movie project. Jamie says that he had a great time working on the movie and is hopeful of The Mortal Instruments: City of Ashes being made.
Bower was chatting to the MailOnline, when he stated, "I've read all the books and the new one, 'City Of Heavenly Fire', too. If they asked me to do the next one I'd f**king love to."
While it does seem unlikely that The Mortal Instruments: City of Ashes will ever be adapted for the big screen, there is another role that Jamie Campbell Bower would love to have. Jamie has revealed that he would love a role in Star Wars: Episode VII and would particularly like to play a villain in the film.
Bower added, "I'd love to be a part of Star Wars. I'd be a Sith, of course, I'm English! We've got the voice and it's perfect for the bad guys."
