Well we still have a few more days to go yet until the eagerly anticipated movie Fifty Shades of Grey finally hits the big screen but there has already been talk about the sequels to the movie being made. Despite the fact that Fifty Shades of Grey has not even opened yet, it has already been confirmed that Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed will both hit the big screen in the coming years.
It is safe to say that it is no real risk, as the Fifty Shades of Grey movie is expected to be one of the biggest movies of 2015 and director Sam Taylor-Johnson has already announced that Fifty Shades Darker has been given the green light, while Fifty Shades Freed will follow that.
Many have been speculating that Fifty Shades Freed could follow in the footsteps of previous novels adapted for the big screen and be split into two. In the past, we have seen the likes of Twilight, Harry Potter, and The Hunger Games all having the final novel being adapted into two movies for the big screen but it has been claimed that Fifty Shades Freed will not follow this pattern.
Jamie Dornan will reprise his role as Christian Grey for Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed, with Dakota Johnson also returning as Anastasia Steele, while it is expected that Sam Taylor-Johnson will again direct the films. While there has not yet been any official word of when the sequels will be released, we would expect to see Fifty Shades Darker in 2016, with Fifty Shades Freed coming in 2017 but we will keep you posted on that.
As for Fifty Shades of Grey, the movie will finally hit the big screen on February 13, just in time for Valentine's Day.
