Mad Men actress January Jones has revealed how she finds it rather interesting how people have gone from liking her character Betty in seasons one and two, to hating her in seasons three and four. January admitted that the people in the street often confuse fiction with reality and actually have a go at her, believing that she actually is Betty.
Jones explained, "I find it really interesting that people think that in seasons three and four she's become unlikeable because she's become more independent. Everybody liked Betty when she was in a living hell in season one and two, and now they hate her. I think as an audience member you can empathise with her struggling to find happiness. I think it's an ongoing process."
She added, "I think it's funny that it carries over into my life, my actual life. When [creator] Matt Weiner writes a storyline that Betty's unlikeable, all of a sudden everybody hates me. I hope she gets a little more well-received this season." A brand new season of the hit show Mad Men will premiere on ABC with a two hour special on March 25.
