X-Men: First Class actress, January Jones has hit out at those who are afraid of sharks, claiming that people should be more concerned about the wellbeing of the shark rather than being afraid of them. January pointed out, that many species of shark are harmless and have not interest in hurting humans, so instead of being scared of them, we should instead be scared for them.
Jones explained, “You should be scared for whale sharks. Tens of millions of sharks are caught for their fins every year. Most, like whale sharks, are completely uninterested in us. So it’s silly to be scared of them. We should be scared for them.” January Jones has even gone as far as swimming with the sharks to try and make her point more valid.
Some states, such as California and Hawaii have outlawed the sale of shark fins and now it just needs the rest to follow suit. January Jones can currently be seen on the big screen, starring alongside Nicholas Cage, Jennifer Carpenter and Guy Pearce, in the Roger Donaldson movie Seeking Justice, which was released in UK cinemas on November 18.
