The US love to take British shows and try to adapt them for the American audience and, while some like The Office do actually work, there are many that really don't, such as Skins and The Inbetweeners. Now, it has been revealed that the US will be making their own version of the show Second Sight.

Clive Owen starred in the UK version
Second Sight aired in the UK back in 2000 and only ran for eight episode, albeit eight very good episodes. The show centered around Detective Chief Inspector Ross Tanner (Clive Owen), a rogue officer who decides to undergo some new age, experimental treatment, in a bid to hide the fact that he is going blind.
The US version of Second Sight, which will air on CBS, will see Jason Lee playing the lead role and will be set in New Orleans. The pilot episode for Second Sight US is written by Michael Cuesta and Gerald Cuesta, with Michael also directing the pilot.

Jason Lee doing his thing
Meanwhile, Gerald Cuesta will also take on the role of producer, along with Phil Goldfine, Carol Mendelsohn, Paula Milne, Nick Reed and Julie Weitz. The pilot episode of Second Sight is still being written but production on the show should begin in the Spring.
