While the comic book movie world has been getting bigger and better all the time, with some of our favourite comic book characters coming to the big screen, there has always been a mixed feeling about the DC superhero Aquaman, with a lot of people wanting to see what they can do with the character on the big screen, while others feel that he is not a strong enough character to really warrant a movie of his own.
However, when it was announced that the DC Extended Universe were going to bring Aquaman into the fold for the Justice League movie, before then having a movie of his own, the doubters seemed to slowly come on board and, as we learnt more about the character, including the fact that Jason Momoa had been cast in the role, pretty much everyone became excited about finally getting to see Aquaman on the big screen.
There has been a lot of talk about what we are going to see from Aquaman in the Justice League movie, as well as what we could expect to get from the Aquaman film itself, but nothing has really been officially confirmed yet. Now, Jason Momoa has been talking about his take on Aquaman, and without giving too much away, Jason has given some of his ideas about his character.
Momoa explained, "We’ve never really seen anything from this guy before, so it’s fun to have a level playing field. There aren’t like four Aquamans before me. I get to set the tone for it. The guy was never really accepted on land, and he was never really accepted in Atlantis. He’s a half-breed. But he’s the best of both worlds. He just doesn’t know how to handle his powers. So it’s kind of a coming of age for a young man to a man, or a man to a king. He’s lost a lot of things and he’s got to cope. He’s an outsider."
We will first get to see Jason Momoa in the role of Arthur Curry aka Aquaman in the upcoming DC superhero movie Justice League, which is set to open on November 17 in both the US and the UK, while the Aquaman movie is set to hit the big screen on December 21, 2018 in both the US and the UK.
