From the moment it was announced that the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice movie would be a way of leading us into the Justice League film, there has been plenty of talk about which characters will make their appearance in the movie, before going on to star in Justice League. We know we have Batman and Superman, and it was then confirmed that Wonder Woman and Cyborg would also appear, while the rumour about Aquaman showing up simply would not go away.
There has been talk about former Game of Thrones actor Jason Momoa playing Aquaman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice for months now and, while the actor has being playing dumb in interviews about it, we have been pretty certain that it would happen. It has now been claimed that Jason Momoa is Aquaman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, as well as reprising the role for the Justice League movie.
However, the biggest part of the news is the fact that, while Jason Momoa will only have a very small part in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, he is also getting his very own Aquaman standalone movie, which has already got some talented writers on board. It has been claimed that Warner Bros. and DC are working on two different scripts for the Aquaman movie, with Kurt Johnstad writing one and Will Beall working on another.
It is quite surprising that Will Beall has been giving writing duties for the Aquaman movie, considering her penned a Justice League screenplay which was completely rejected by Warners Bros. and DC. It will be interesting to see if Will has what it takes to produce a strong enough script this time around, as Aquaman is not an easy movie to write. Watch this space!
