How I Met Your Mother actor Jason Segel has revealed how he put on around 30 pounds while filming for his latest movie Jeff, Who Lives at Home. Jason plays the title character in the movie and admitted that fans will see the difference in his appearance as the movie progresses.
Segel explained, "It was the best thing of all time. We shot for three months there but the movie takes place in one day. So in addition to this movie having the themes it has, it's also the slow story of a guy gaining 30 pounds over one day, which I'm really proud of, it's not easy."
Jason then went on to admit that they intended to have an honesty about the movie, as well as the comedy element. He added, "The goal wasn't just to come in and have a joke-fest. It was to come in and really be honest, and that's why I wanted to do it."
As well as Jason Segel, Jeff, Who Lives at Home also stars Ed Helms, Susan Sarandon and Judy Greer. The movie was written and directed by Jay Duplass and Mark Duplass and is set to be released in the US on March 16 and in the UK on April 20.
