English actor Jason Statham has developed a bit of a reputation for playing tough guys in his movies and his latest one is no different. Jason plays the titular character in the movie Parker and claims that the role was almost tailor-made for him.

Statham explained, "The good thing about Parker is I’ve played a thief before. I’ve played a tough guy before. I’ve played a lot of things that might have elements of what Parker has, but what is really specifically different is this comes from a great quality of writing. It was like a sort of a tailor-made suit for me."
He added, “You just know that it comes with a great endorsement that people like the story, like the character, so the pressure there becomes — it all goes over to Taylor Hackford because he has to interpret one of the books and do justice to that.”

As well as Jason Statham, Parker also stars Jennifer Lopez, Bobby Cannavale, Nick Nolte and Michael Chiklis. Parker is directed by Taylor Hackford, based on the screenplay by John J McLaughlin and is set to be released on January 25 in the US and March 8 in the UK.
