It is a very exciting time to be a part of Doctor Who at the moment, as the show once again comes to that stage which gets a lot of fans excited, not to mention the cast and crew. While we will all be sad to see Matt Smith leaving the show as the Doctor, we are equally as excited to see Peter Capaldi coming in as the new Doctor.
One person who has admitted to being very excited about seeing Peter Capaldi joining Doctor Who, is Jenna-Louise Coleman, who continues on as the Doctors companion. Jenna says that having a new Doctor coming in makes it feel like the start of a new show.
Coleman explained to Glamour UK, "It’s been an incredible year and it’s such an exciting time to be a part of Doctor Who. It will be interesting playing the companion to a new doctor when Peter [Capaldi] takes over from Matt [Smith]. It’s like a whole new start for the show.”
Doctor Who makes its return to BBC One when the 50th Anniversary Special airs on November 23, with Matt Smith still in the role of the Doctor. We will then get to see Peter Capaldi as Doctor Who for the first time, when he arrives in the Doctor Who 2013 Christmas Special.
