The 2014 Golden Globes took place last night and, while there were no major shocks on the winners list, there was one little surprise from one of the winners on the night. Many people had tipped Jennifer Lawrence to win the best supporting actress award at the Golden Globes 2014, which is exactly what happened.
This is where the little surprise came in. You would have thought that Jennifer would be used to making acceptance speeches at big awards night, especially considering the fact that she won the best actress Oscar last year. However, Jennifer was so frightened about winning the Golden Globe that she was actually physically shaking.
During her acceptance speech, Lawrence told the crowd, "Don’t ever do this again. It’s so scary. I actually did watch all the movies this year – not all of them, but you know what I mean. I don’t know why I’m so scared, I don’t know why I’m shaking so much."
Jennifer Lawrence beat off some stiff competition for the best supporting actress gong including the likes of Lupita Nyong’o for 12 Years a Slave, Julia Roberts for August: Osage County, June Squibb for Nebraska and English star Sally Hawkins for Blue Jasmine. It will be interesting to see if Jennifer Lawrence can take this success and bring home the best supporting actress Oscar again this year, following her success with Silver Linings Playbook last year.
