Jennifer Lawrence has redefined what it means to be a Hollywood 'It' Girl, with her unfiltered personality and lack of pretentiousness. After winning a Best Actress Oscar at the young age of 22 [making her the second youngest person to do so], Lawrence has managed to disappear from the media landscape and go back to doing what she enjoys the most - making movies.

Jennifer Lawrence became the second youngest person to win a Best Actress Oscar
However, while she has been in Hawaii shooting the last few scenes remaining from 'Catching Fire', media outlets seem to have amalgated previous interviews of hers into a large, 'new' interview. We know Jennifer hasn't been giving interviews since her Oscar win, and she's likely to stay off the public radar for a while as she's off shooting David O. Russell's Abscam project and the next X-Men film. Not to fear, we're likely going to get another dose of Jennifer Lawrence at the end of this year, with the promotion of 'Serena' and 'Catching Fire' getting underway. Many J Law fans, including ourselves, have been wondering if there's a chance that we may see Jennifer back at the Kodak next year.
As much as we hate to admit it, we know we're not going to see her back there with 'Catching Fire', since it doesn't exactly play into the Academy wheelhouse. However, 'Serena', based on a period novel by Ron Rash, has all the makings of an Oscar bait film - Oscar nominated cast, a re-team between Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper, an Oscar nominated director in Susanne Bier, a period setting, and a very powerful and dark plot.

While the film being nominated for Best Picture is a bit more of a long shot, it's looking good that Jennifer might get nominated for another Oscar for Best Actress, especially [without giving anything away] as her character is exactly what Oscar voters love. Of course, next year is looking to be an especially competitive year for actresses, and it really depends on what Bier's managed to do with the film. The fact that it doesn't have distribution yet is also slightly worrying, but it could just be studios and distributors biding their time for the right moment. Either way, if Jen's managed to do with the material what we know she's capable of, then it's a possibility that we'll see her back at the Oscars next year. Whether she wins or not is another story.
