This is not the first time that Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence has spoken up about wanting to become a director – she had previously said that she eventually wants to end up behind the camera, but doesn’t sure if it would be the right fit for her. Now, in an interview with USA Today [via Jennifer Lawrence Daily], she talks about how much the Hunger Games has affected her and how she would eventually like to own her own production company and direct movies.

When talking about the Hunger Games, she says, “It’s so huge. It’s why I almost didn’t take the movie. It’s a character that can very easily overpower the rest of my characters. I don’t want to do something that’s kind of similar. I haven’t really done that many movies. It’s such an awesome things to be part of something that speaks to so many young kids about something that actually matters, about what one young person can actually do. I feel like I’m part of an important message and that feels good. It feels nice.”
She also adds that despite her impeccable movie choices and astonishing career as an actress [so far!], she does eventually want to direct, saying, “I want to have a production company. Sometimes I read a script and wonder, how is this not being made? And I drive past the billboards and the movies that are being made – it’s just so infuriating. I want to change that, hopefully. I’ve always wanted to direct. I’m decisive but I’m also insecure. That would make me a great director. (I’d say), ‘This is definitely what I want. But wait. Is this what I want?

Do you think Jennifer would make a good director? If she does decide to become a director, it will be interesting to see if she directs herself in movies [a la Clint Eastwood and Ben Affleck] or if she sticks to directing other actors.
