Jennifer Lawrence’s team have been in the midst of a media blitz to make sure she gets as much publicity before the Oscars as possible. While Jennifer has lost a bit of her momentum to Emmanuelle Riva [Amour], it definitely doesn’t hurt to make sure you’re visible to Oscar voters before it’s time for them to make a decision.

She has a recent interview with the Wrap where she discusses her career, her audition skills, and her unique career path. We all know that Jennifer hit it big with ‘Winter’s Bone’, but why didn’t she break out sooner? Well, according to Jen, it’s because she’s terrible at auditions.
She says, “I was a terrible auditioner. I remember how frustrating it was when I would go into an audition and somebody had seen [my early films] The Burning Plain or Poker House, and they'd say, 'Based on her performance in the movie, I thought she was going to be a lot better.' I would feel like, I was doing a movie when I did that! You just handed me four pieces of paper and were like, 'Act, monkey, act!'"

Jennifer Lawrence has been nominated for the Best Actress Oscar twice
While that may be true, everything we hear suggests otherwise; she is reported to have won the Hunger Games role after an audition that made Gary Ross and the producers cry, and David O. Russell has gone on record stating that she stole her 'Silver Linings Playbook' role through her skype audition. So while she may not have been a good auditioner when she was younger, it definitely seems as if she’s learned how to do it right.
