Jennifer Lawrence has won her first ever [and probably not last] Best Actress Oscar for her performance in 'Silver Linings Playbook'. While it was definitely not a surprise that she won Best Actress, it was a slight shock considering that so many people were predicting Emmanuelle Riva to win.

This was Jennifer Lawrence's first win and second nomination
This nomination marked Jennifer Lawrence's second nomination, and she also became the youngest actress to be nominated for Best Actress twice. She ended up getting the only major award for 'Silver Linings Playbook' during the awards, even though it had quite a few nominations to begin with.
Lawrence looked shocked when she went up on stage, and ended up tripping on the stairs as she went up. She accepted her award to thunderous applause and a standing ovation, which she joked was only because she tripped. She thanked her friends and family, and ended up charming the audience once again with her humble speech. She did also thank the women in film this year, and threw out a Happy Birthday to Emmanuelle Riva.

Silver Linings Playbook has 8 nominations
Don't expect this to be the last time Lawrence gets nominated, as she already has two films in the next two years that could get nominated again: 'Serena' and 'Ends of the Earth'.
