Jennifer Lopez covers the latest issue of W Magazine, and she opens up about her parenting skills and being a mother to her two children, Emme and Max.
She explains, "I think a lot about teaching my kids to work hard. I’ve learned something about kids—they don’t do what you say; they do what you do. I watched my parents.” She continues that her own personal relationship with her mother wasn't exactly candy and roses, adding, "My mom and I butted heads. I didn’t want to go to college—I wanted to try dance full-time. I was homeless. But I told her ‘This is what I have to do.’”
Lopez definitely had to go through a lot of obstacles to get where is today. She's managed to become one of the world's most famous singer/dancer/actresses, and yet, she had a very modest upbringing with no showbiz connections. She grew up in Bronx and the interview with W was also conducted there as well, with Jennifer reminiscing, "The last time I was in there was when my mom and dad called us home to tell us they were separating after 33 years of marriage. I think that’s why I was nervous about coming here today. It’s like seeing someone from the past—you’re afraid to run into them because you never know if it’s going to be ‘wow’ or very difficult. This is a combination of both.” Well, she definitely doesn't have to run anymore.
Jennifer Lopez was most recently seen opposite Jason Statham in 'Parker', and she will next be seen in 'The 33', which is in pre-production and will come out next year. Lopez is also currently dating one of her backup dancers, Casper Smart.
