Jennifer Lopez was recently in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand for an event, and she was interviewed by Extra TV. It seemed as though some of the interview questions caught her off guard, especially the questions about whether she would be replacing Mariah Carey and returning to American Idol.

The interviewer first asks her, "What did you think when you heard about the rumor of you returning to Idol? How crazy was that?" You can see Lopez looking a little surprised at the question, and trying to gather her wits. She smiles and says, "Um..you know, I don't have much to say about that right now [laughs]."
The interviewer continues, "Would you do it next year, not replacing somebody?" Jennifer says, "Right. I don't know, I don't know. I don't know, it's too far off to say right now."

There is talk that Jennifer Lopez will replace Mariah Carey on American Idol
Of course, if negotiations for Lopez to return and replace Carey on American Idol were going on, she would be under legal obligation not to say anything about it in a public interview. Her response is rather telling though, and it definitely seems as if there's some talks going on. Either that, or she was just taken completely by surprise and was shocked at the question.
