It has been reported that former Formula One world champion Jenson Button and his beautiful wife Jessica Michibata were gassed by a team of burglars, who then went of to raid the house with the couple passed out. The couple were staying at a St Tropez villa when the burglary took place, with the thieves stealing a number of items, including a £250k diamond ring.
A supposed insider explained to The Sun, "Police have told Jenson they’re convinced the burglars gassed the house using the air conditioning units. Over the past five years, it’s becoming an increasingly common way for top criminals to launch raids on expensive properties in the area without being disturbed."
The source added, "Jenson is convinced that’s what happened too. The burglars were in the same room as him and Jessica, rifling through all their drawers. But they weren’t disturbed at all because the effects of the gas gives the burglars free reign. It was the same for their three other friends — they were all completely out of it."
The police have claimed that this is becoming a very popular way for thieves to rob houses, even suggesting that the team of thieves had actually been watching the villa for some time, planning the right time to attack. As well as Jenson Button and Jessica Michibata, there were also three friends staying in the villa, who were all also unconscious during the burglary.
Everyone in the villa were so shaken by the whole ordeal, that they actually decided to leave St Tropez as soon as they had spoken to the police.
