When it was announced that another Bourne movie was going to be made, everybody expected to see the return of Matt Damon as Jason Bourne along with director Paul Greengrass. However, this was not the case and instead we have Jeremy Renner starring in The Bourne Legacy, with Tony Gilroy stepping up to the plate as director. Jeremy has since taken the time to shed some light on the matter.
Renner explained, "My character is called Aaron Cross but he ends up having a bunch of different names. For fans of the franchise, The Bourne Legacy has that same ticking clock, but it's a new programme and new characters. Yeah, it's that same deal, it's just a new set of agents with a different leash. It's the same tempo and pace but more expansive and bigger. The differences are pretty vast but you'll know it's a Bourne movie."
As well as Jeremy Renner, The Bourne Legacy also stars Edward Norton, Rachel Weisz and Joan Allen. The Bourne Legacy is currently still in the filming stages, with a release date currently set for August 3, 2012 in the US and August 17, 2012 in the UK.
