Jerry Seinfeld is performing live during the month of November. He has a tour scheduled that will take him from New York to Illinois, Nevada and Minnesota. There is already a strong demand for tickets and fans are eagerly anticipating the chance to watch Seinfeld deliver his bitingly sarcastic comments about “nothing and everything”.
The comedian hones in on the small events that occur throughout a normal day and somehow he is able to make his audience laugh at even the most mundane details in a monologue. Seinfeld has long been a master at ‘deadpan delivery’ when he is on stage and his slight changes in facial expression only makes his show that much funnier.
During the latter part of the 1990s the Seinfeld Show was a ratings hit and fans tuned in each week to enjoy the antics of Jerry, Kosmo, George and Elaine. The comedy timing was precise and the topics were brilliantly chosen for their ability to appeal to a broad viewing audience. Who could not identify with Jerry’s obsessive-compulsive nature? Who could not love this likeable, self-effacing guy and his loyal pals? The high ratings proved that Jerry Seinfeld was one of television’s reigning kings of comedy.
A scandal erupted in 1998 when Seinfeld fell in love with a newly married woman. The couple weathered the storm of public discontent with a quiet dignity. Jessica Sklar Nederlander divorced her hubby of four months and quickly became engaged to Seinfeld. Jerry and Jessica announced their engagement less than a month after the divorce became final. They were wed in 1999.
Seinfeld has continued to perform stand-up comedy and introduced the world to a new video series, “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee.” Even though he no longer has a weekly network gig his fans continue to prove that they still love Jerry.
