The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby is a very ambitious piece of movie making, as it is made as a double feature. The film has two movies to it, The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby: Him and The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby: Her.
In The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby: Him, the movie focusses on the relationship of a married couple in New York, from the perspective of the restaurateur husband (James McAvoy). While in The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby: Her, is gives the wife's (Jessica Chastain), who is going back to school, point of view.
As well as making the two different features to give the two different perspectives, writer and director Ned Benson has also separated the two films with colours. In the Him version of the movie, it is mostly dark, blue palette, while the Her film is bright and golden colours.
As well as starring Jessica Chastain and James McAvoy, The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby also stars Viola Davis, Bill Hader, William Hurt, Isabelle Huppert, Ciarin Hinds, and Jess Weixler. We have three of the images from the movie here, but you can see plenty more of them over at The Playlist.
