When it comes to making a remake or a reboot or whatever you want to call it, of a past project, there are many occasions when it has fallen short, which has led many people to question why Hollywood decides to keep revisiting old projects. However, they have not all been bad and there have been a few successes along the way, including the recent big screen adaptation of the Stephen King novel IT.
As well as being a huge success at the global box office, breaking a number of box office records around the world, IT has also been a huge success with the fans and critics, receiving plenty of praise along the way. We already know that we are going to get an IT sequel and now, director Andy Muschietti has been talking about the cast for IT 2, and Andy would love to get Jessica Chastain on board to play the older version of Bev.
Muschietti was talking to Variety, when he stated, "Jessi is an amazing actress and very good friend and I would love her to play Beverly. She loves the movie and it feels like the planets are aligned in that sense, but we still have to make that happen. There are a lot of ideas for the rest of the cast that I’m playing with, but it’s a bit too premature to say those names right now."
We would love to see Jessica Chastain appearing in the IT sequel and we cannot wait to see which other stars Andy Muschietti has in mind for the rest of the cast. With that said, it could well still be some time before we do get some official casting news for IT 2.
