Jessica Pare covers the latest issue of Elle Canada, and opens up about her first audition for AMC’s hit TV show ‘Mad Men’. She plays Don Draper’s wife, but the role didn’t always start out that way.

She tells Elle, “I didn't know what I was auditioning for, but the character description was 'brunette female.' I was like, 'Check and check!' I had no idea what the part would turn into. The first time Megan and Don [Jon Hamm] kissed, the costumer turned to me and was like 'Well, it was great working with you, buddy.' And then it turned into being Mrs. Draper, which I still can't f****** believe. I'm so grateful.”
Pare also discussed the public reactions to her character and her acting, saying, “How can you not love Megan? I do. People will react to me as an actor, though. Everybody has their opinions - I'm the worst about, like, 'Oh, I don't like that actress' for no reason. So I understand that, but I think the character is fantastic. She's so spontaneous and genuine."

Pare had discussed the differences between her character and herself before, but it’s true that the new Mrs. Draper does get a lot of dislike from the show’s fans. Of course, this is due to individual tastes, but also due to the character itself. Despite all of that, Jessica Pare has proven herself to be a commanding screen presence as much as she is a beautiful actress.
