It has been reported that Marvel Studios are keen to sign up Jim Carrey and Adam Sandler for the movie Guardians of the Galaxy. While most of the talk surrounding the movie has been about the people auditioning for Star-Lord, it appears that these two are in line for different roles.

Jim Carrey would make a good Groot
An insider has claimed, "Marvel is asking for the availability of both Jim Carrey and Adam Sandler." It is believed that the two comic actors will not be competing for the same role either, as they are rumoured to be in line to play Rocket Raccoon and Groot. However, these two characters have not yet been confirmed to be in the movie.
We already know that Jim Carrey would not have any problems appearing in a superhero movie, as he is currently filming his role as Sal Bertolinni aka Colonel Stars and Stripes, in Kick-Ass 2.
