For a lot of actors and actresses in Hollywood, there is a specific role that has changed their career in a very big way, making them a household name around the world. For actor Jim Parsons this role was that of Sheldon Cooper in the hit CBS comedy series The Big Bang Theory, where he has appeared in the role for 160 episodes between 2007 and 2014. However there is much more to Jim than just The Big Bang Theory, as he will show in the coming year.
Jim Parsons has has a number of movies lined up for release in 2014, as well as continuing in his role as Sheldon Cooper. There was plenty of talk about the Zach Braff movie Wish I Was Here, which was funded via a Kickstarter campaign and the movie is close to release. Fans will see Jim share the big screen with Kate Hudson, Josh Gad, Ashley Greene, Donald Faison and Zach Braff in Wish I Was Here, which opens on July 25 in the US and September 19 in the UK.
There has also been a lot of talk about the upcoming television movie The Normal Heart, which boasts a very impressive cast. As well as starring Jim Parsons, The Normal Heart also stars Matt Bomer, Jonathan Groff, Taylor Kitsch, Julia Roberts and Mark Ruffalo. The Normal Heart is directed by Ryan Murphy and will premiere on HBO on May 25.
Following that, fans of the actor will next see Jim Parsons in the film Visions, which co-stars Isla Fisher, Gillian Jacobs, Eva Longoria, Anson Mount and Joanna Cassidy. Visions is directed by Kevin Greutert and will open sometime later in the year. After that we will see Jim lending his voice to a character in the movie Home, which also features the voices of Jennifer Lopez, Rihanna and Steve Martin and will open on November 26 in the US and December 5 in the UK.
Meanwhile though, we will continue to enjoy seeing Jim Parsons in the role of Sheldon Cooper in The Big Bang Theory, which is now in its seventh season and continues to air on CBS, with the next episode on Thursday, April 24 at 8/7c. The Big Bang Theory was recently renewed for three more seasons.
