It has been reported that Joaquin Phoenix is being lined up to star in the big screen adaptation of the Thomas Pynchon novel Inherent Vice. The movie already has The Master director Paul Thomas Anderson attached, as well as producers Megan Ellison, John Lesher and JoAnne Seller.
Robert Downey Jr. was initially set for the role
Robert Downey Jr. was initially lined up to be in Inherent Vice but he has since had to pull out of the project and Paul Thomas Anderson is hoping that Joaquin Phoenix will agree to be the star of the film. Paul is currently working on the sreenplay for Inherent Vice and the are hoping to begin filming later this year, with a view to a 2014 release.
