There has been a constant lack of originality in Hollywood over the years, with people choosing to reboot and remake old movies, rather than go for a new idea. Next year will see Joel Kinnaman in the role of RoboCop, which has just released its brand new trailer.
RoboCop is set in 2028 Detroit, where Alex Murphy is a good cop with a loving family, before he is gunned down and critically injured in the line of duty. The multinational conglomerate OmniCorp decide that this is the ideal opportunity to try out a part-man, part-robot police officer.
As well as starring Joel Kinnaman, RoboCop also stars Gary Oldman, Michael Keaton, Abbie Cornish, Jackie Earle Haley, Michael Kenneth Williams, Jennifer Ehle, Jay Baruchel, Marianne Jean-Baptiste and Samuel L. Jackson. RoboCop is directed by Jose Padilha, based on the screenplay by Joshua Zeturner.
RoboCop will open on February 7, 2014 in the UK, before then hitting the big screen in the US on February 12, 2014. Until then though, why not take a look at Joel Kinnaman in the new RoboCop trailer below and feel free to sound off about the movie in the usual place.
