Johnny Cash’s ‘Hurt’ cover named greatest video ever by NME

The music video made for the Johnny Cash cover of the Nine Inch Nails song ‘Hurt’ has been named the greatest music video in the world, ever by NME. The music video came top, out of 100 classic music video posted on the newly launched NME website, NMEvidoe.com.

The Johnny Cash video for ‘Hurts’ has been described as a “poignant performance of Nine Inch Nails, ‘Hurt’. It is almost haunting, as it was recorded just prior to Cash's untimely death.” The clip finished marginally in front of ‘Just’ by Radiohead and ‘Wicked Game’ by Chris Isaak.

The top ten was full of some of the greatest artists of our time and the videos are of the highest quality. Also in the top ten was ‘Everlong’ by Foo Fighters, ‘Smack My Bitch Up’ by Prodigy and ‘Buddy Holly’ by Weezer. What is your favourite music video of all time?
