Johnny Depp has made a surprising announcement that he's thinking of quitting acting. Depp has been one of the most iconic character actors of the last decade, although he could have easily been pigeonholed into the 'pretty boy' category with his looks. But despite his success, Depp recently revealed that he's thinking of quitting acting.
It's not clear whether his decision was maybe influenced by 'The Lone Ranger' bombing at the box office, but he recently stated, "When you add up the amount of dialog you say per year and you realize you've said written words more than you've had a chance to say your own words, that becomes an insane option for a human being. Are there quieter things I wouldn't mind doing? Yes, I wouldn't mind that. I wouldn't say I am dropping out any second but I would say it's not too far away."
However, when he's asked about the possibilities of retiring before Alice in Wonderland 2 or Pirates of the Caribbean 5 get made, he responds, "No, I think we're alright in those categories."
Johnny Depp will next be seen in 'Transcendence' and will also star in 'Into The Woods' and a film called 'Mortdecai', before being seen in Alice in Wonderland 2 and Pirates 5. On the personal front, Depp has been dating his 'Rum Diary' co-star Amber Heard for the better part of a year, and there are rumors that they're thinking of getting engaged.
