Many of you may have already seen Jonah Hill playing the role of Peter Brand in Moneyball and those of you who have yet to see the movie should really give it a watch. Jonah has revealed how he did not have to audition for his role in Moneyball and that he simply showed director Bennett Miller a copy of his movie Cyrus, which won him the role.
Hill explained, "I didn't audition. I showed Bennett Cyrus before it came out and that's what they cast me from. You know I was at the bottom of a list of actors who weren't known for their dramatic work." He then went on to say, “I knew Bennett socially and he knew I was eager to break out of whatever box I was in. As a respected filmmaker he wanted to make an unsuspecting choice."
Jonah Hill received rave reviews for his performance in Moneyball and has been nominated for the Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role Oscar. Jonah has vowed to focus more on making dramatic movies in the future as opposed to his usual comedy films. You can next see Jonah Hill on the big screen, alongside Channing Tatum in 21 Jump Street, which is set to be released on March 16.
